Moonriver Mountain Retreat has a Main Lodge, 3 private spacious Chalets (Safari, Sunrise and Waterhole) and a private 3 bedroom House (Eagle's Nest), situated on the ridge of the Mountain, all within a short walking distance from the Main Lodge and Parking Bay. The Main Lodge, Chalets and House are all with total glass frontage to take maximum advantage of the breath taking views of the Valley and Mountains. The Chalets and House are situated away from the Main Lodge entertainment area to ensure privacy. Any type of vehicle can reach us. There are staff available to help you with your baggage to your unit.
Main Lodge
An entertainment area with large open lounge/dining area, open fireplaces, guest toilet, large entertainment deck, kitchen, fire boma and swimming pool. The Main Lodge is open to be used by all guests.

Safari
Open plan bedroom/lounge area and en-suite bathroom with bath as well as shower. Magnificent views on the valley. Open fireplace, ceiling fan, private deck, outside braai and kitchenette with cutlery and cookware,fridge, kettle, toaster and mini oven with two plates.
King size double bed or two Single beds. (Please indicate your choice when making a booking). Maximum 2 persons. Not suitable for elderly persons. Staff are available to assist you with your baggage to your unit.

Sunrise

Waterhole
Two separate bedrooms, lounge area and a separate bathroom with bath as well as shower. Magnificent views on mountain. Open fireplace, ceiling fan, private deck, outside braai and fully furnished kitchen with a fridge and gasoven. Two King size beds or four Single beds. (Please indicate your choice when making a booking). Maximum 4 persons. Staff are available to assist you with your baggage to your unit.

Eagle's Nest
The Wintermans family’s private owner’s lodge, which is available for use by the public, from time to time. It has the best location setting and atmosphere of all and it is completely private, away from the other accommodation, but still close to the Main Lodge.
Three separate bedrooms, each with its own entrance from the large veranda. It has a large lounge and dining area, including an inside fire place and open plan kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven and large fridge. All rooms have ceiling fans and the main bedroom aircon. It has a thatch covered wooden deck overlooking the valley and the large braai area. Two bedrooms have bathrooms with a bath and shower. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower only. King size beds or Single beds (Please indicate your choice when making a booking). Maximum 6 persons. Staff are available to assist with your baggage to your unit.

Moonriver Mountain Retreat is nestled on the edge of a large secluded valley, in the heart of the Waterberg Biosphere of Limpopo, South Africa and is the part of Waterberg Bushveld Retreat, which is open to the public. Moonriver is a self-catering/self-service establishment, 3 hours drive from Pretoria. It offers guests spectacular views of the amazing valley and surrounds, as well as interesting walking or strenuous hiking for the fitter visitors! During Summer, there are numerous springs and water streams to explore in different valleys, with abundant wildlife, birds and flowers.
